Vaccinated Sacramento County Inmate With Underlying Health Conditions Dies From COVID-19 Complications

SACRAMENTO (CBS13) — Officials are investigating the coronavirus-related decease of a vaccinated inmate who was hospitalized past week.

According to Sacramento County, its wellness services section was notified of the 76-year-old inmate’s decease Monday morning. The inmate reportedly was already being treated for semipermanent important and underlying wellness conditions earlier investigating affirmative for COVID-19 connected October 25.

He was admitted to the infirmary for debased oxygen levels anterior to the affirmative test. The region did not accidental wherever the inmate was being housed but said the lodging portion was quarantined and contact-tracing efforts were underway.

“We are moving intimately with Correctional Health unit to behaviour interaction tracing and mitigate the spread,” said region Public Health Officer Olivia Kasirye. “Quarantine protocols are successful spot and extended investigating is being done.”

The 76-year-old had been vaccinated successful June. His individuality has not yet been released.
