Welcome to the 2016 Amgen Tour of California, kicking off in San Diego today. As each stage concludes, expect to see race results (as soon as they are available) followed by a press release and select quotes from the press conference later in the evening. This year it’s easier than ever to stay up to date on the race situation and your favorite riders. Attached is the final roster for today’s start as well as where to find teams and riders on social media to follow along as they race across 782 miles of the state through next Sunday.
Also, since 2007, the Amgen Tour of California has made it easy for fans to stay connected to the racing action from anywhere via the free Microsoft Tour Tracker App available at www.amgentourofcalifornia.com/app. The premier app for up-to-the-minute, comprehensive information on the largest cycling competition in America can be downloaded free of charge via iTunes, Google Play and the Apple and Android app stores.

The 2016 Microsoft Tour Tracker App for mobile and desktop will feature daily live coverage of the final two hours of each stage, full start-to-finish coverage via GPS, race situation and up-to-the-minute text commentary throughout the race. Former professional cyclist Frankie Andreu will provide commentary. Race data and text coverage of the Amgen Breakaway from Heart Disease Women’s Race empowered with SRAM (May 19-22), as well as nightly recap videos of the women’s event, will be available on the app as well.
